Juventus vs Man Utd: Live The last time Juventus met Manchester United they absolutely battered them. The score was only 1-0 but in metaphorical football terms, United were given a hiding. Tonight we’re watching the game in Turin, Italy, somewhere that isn’t Old Trafford and therefore probably a far more difficult environment for Man Utd to perform in.
Cristiano Ronaldo will play tonight even though he has admitted recently that the rape allegations against him are “interfering” with his life and reputation but we’ll be discussing the football and nothing else this evening. It certainly didn’t seem to affect him in the last game, with him setting up the only goal of the match.
Ronaldo has been Juventus’ best player this season – shockingly – having scored seven goals in 11 games and also providing five assists. But it’s not just Ronaldo that Man Utd players need to worried about. We need to see who’s fit and who’s playing before we know how Juve plan to approach this game but United must ensure Miralem Pjanic doesn’t control the game, protect against the full-backs providing crosses, and beware the danger of Mario Mandzukic or Paolo Dybala – maybe even both – depending on who plays.
A Juventus win would guarantee them safe passage to the knock-out stages, a draw means they’ll probably still win the group and a win for Man Utd would mean Mourinho’s men could quite very likely qualify if not win the group should results go their way. Juventus don’t like conceding goals, United haven’t been scoring many – I have no idea how this match is going to go. What I do know is that United have to turn up in the first half. Bournemouth could’ve been 3-0 up against them – Ronaldo doesn’t play for Bournemouth.
